Maximum Paintball Supply opened it's doors in April 1998.  At that time there were four other paintball stores in the area.  Unfortunately these stores lacked some of the basic necessities of a retail store.  We decided to do things differently.  We set our operating hours and stuck to them.  We took the unprecedented step to only charge our customers for air they needed not by the size of the tank.  We were the first in the industry to quarter cases of paint for our customers and only charge them a quarter of the price.  We had inventory... lots of inventory.

Fresno players responded in a big way.  We had to expand our 750 sq ft store to the 2300 sq ft location we're in now.  During peak season we employ 8 staff members, can store up to 25 pallets of paint, and go through 20 - 50lb Co2 tanks in a week!

Safety 101

Here are the two most basic safety rules in paintball:

If you are not playing paintball, the barrel bag is secured on your barrel.

If you are playing paintball, the mask is secured on your face.

You would be surprised to see how many people think they can 'avoid' a paintball so they don't have to wear a mask.  I can introduce you to a few one-eyed people who now swear by the face mask.

The barrel bag is the ultimate safety device.  At our Field, barrel bags are required equipment so make sure you bring one (a real, manufactured barrel bag).

There are other safety rules you should know about.  For example:

  • there is no blind firing in paintball.  You must be able to see what you are shooting at.  This will prevent you from shooting someone who's mask has become dislodged, shooting a ref, etc.
  • don't get into a war with your friend by throwing paintballs at each other.  This can also take out an eye.
  • wear the proper shoes and clothing for the sport.  You won't impress anyone by going out in flip flops and a wife beater.
  • don't point your paintball gun at anyone unless you are actually playing a game and they are wearing a mask. "I didn't think it was loaded" will not turn back time.  Do not shoot at someones feet outside the playing field.  Some think that if they don't aim at a person's face that the ball won't do any harm.  Stick to the rules.. keep the barrel bag on when you are not playing.
  • don't aim at someone watching a paintball game on the other side of the netting.  The netting is not made to be shot at and you are putting an awful lot of trust in a piece of net.  Stick to the rules, don't aim at someone not playing and prepared for the game.
  • here's a good one... don't ever look down the barrel of a gun.. not any gun.  There's nothing to see in there!
  • never shoot at an animal.  Paintballs can easily kill small and even some medium animals.  It's cruel and irresponsible.  If this describes you, please sell your equipment, we don't want you in our sport.
